Slow Going

From a human perspective you can’t be a turtle and be in a hurry, but I’m sure the turtle’s concept of speed is different than ours. At least I assume they’re not watching us thinking “I wish I could move that fast!.”
I visited this exhibit at least a decade below so I suspect this is the same tortoise I saw then. At the time he had one leg perched up on a short rock and was absolutely still for at least 5 minutes and then it moved its leg slowly down and remained absolutely still for another 5 minutes. I thought maybe it was a broken animatron for a while.
That tortoise definitely did not seem to be in a hurry. But then, maybe in the world of tortoise lives, he was blazing along.
