Eight O’clock Abstract
Bozeman, Montana
2023
These day-glo “stickie” pads on our kitchen counter are hard to ignore because of their bright colors. But when the Fashion Queen stacked them in an accidentally appealing and very 60s abstract mod art manner, I couldn’t resist photographing them. The composition reminded me a bit of a clock, hence the title.
I am missing the picture on my end.
Sorry about that. It’s fixed now (I think).
Really like this and the title! I think some color theory (split complements??) is at play here even though the arrangement was accidental.
Thanks Kathy. I think it was Orson Wells who said “I don’t know anything about art but I know what I like.” To paraphrase him I can truthfully say I don’t know anything useful about color theory but I know what I like. It would be interesting in a way I suppose, to have someone who actually is well versed in color theory to see if color arrangements like this one that I respond positively to have any correlation to what color theory suggest might be pleasing. Or do I respond equally well to junk color arrangements as I do to quality ones. I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised with either conclusion.
