I have run into several curious door knobs and latches in the California Foothills; as you say nothing special but I still photograph them. I think they are special at least to me and this one is unique. I like the color.
Thanks Allan. The color combination in the scene is what drew me most to it. That and the dappled sunlight of course. I think the latch served most to provide a center focus for the eye when viewing the colors.
This is a beautiful picture. You have a way of capturing quiet moments that is just lovely.

Both today’s & yesterday’s photos have strong color contrast. It is effective!
