Wow! That is an awesome image. I always wonder how long nature photographers have to wait to get the perfect shot. You must have been very patient. Beautiful.
Patience is not one of my photographic virtues. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I had seen the nest in the old tree and stopped to photograph it when the eagle flew up and landed on the branch. I got a few shots of it and then waited for maybe five minutes or so to see if it would do anything interesting, like fly up to the nest itself. It seemed content to just sit where it was so I got bored and left. A serious bird photographer probably would have sat there all day.
Patience or not – it’s a great photo. 🙂
