Thanks Judy. I think some people take longer than others to warm up to the desert. (No pun intended.) The attraction of the Sonoran Desert was one reason I moved to Tucson. I still kick myself sometimes for leaving that part of the country, although that never happens during the 6 months out of the year it gets over 100 degrees down there.
Yes, the heat is definitely the down-side. I think for me it was the shock of moving from the Pacific NW to the desert. Never really appreciated the desert until after I left Tucson.
I remember Mark expressing some misgivings about the desert terrain early on. I guess coming from Kansas I could relate better to treeless landscapes. I was really psyched to be there in that environment.
