POTD: A Dark Day at Slemish

A Dark Day at Slemish
The Cuttings, County Antrim
Northern Ireland
2019

This is what Slemish, the mountain we see from the cottage where we are currently staying, looked like when we first got here last Saturday. Two days later we climbed it in bright sunshine and fortunately it has been sunny every day since. We don’t necessarily expect the weather to stay this way forever (we are in Ireland after all) but are really enjoying it for now.

  1. I love these shots of the tiny white dwelling dwarfed by a surrounding dark, brooding landscape. White it’s not nice to be out in, that kind of weather makes for dramatic photos. Enjoy the warm dry weather while it lasts! 🙂

    1. Kathy, it is a tough call for me as to whether I would rather the weather to be dark and moody for photographic impact or bright and sunny for the most enjoyment of being outside. Fortunately, since we’re at Mother Nature’s mercy, I don’t have to agonize over that choice and can just go with the flow.
