Working with this photo from last fall had me anxiously anticipating when the current view of this scene will also be snow free; currently it’s got some pretty deep snow on it. Some significant progress towards this view should happen this week, if the predictions of our first 60 degree temperatures of the year bear out.]]>

It’s been a while since you displayed the septa, works well in the composition. You are starting to sound a little anxious about run-off… Just got back from the southwest of Colorado where it was 70 when I arrived and 20 when I left. Misty in the canyonlands and powder skiing at 11,000 ft. At the restored hotel I stayed at in Telluride they had some septa prints from the 1890’s, my favorite was the volunteer fire department competition. The fireman were dressed in track uniforms to pull their pumper in the hundred yard dash. Dry and windy here at the ranch though, we could use some rain ….
Steve, if you look closely you’ll notice that there’s actually other color in the image. So technically it’s not a sepia image, although it certainly has that feel to it. These days I’d prefer those 70 degree temps to the 20 degrees. Sure am tired of looking at snow drifts and dirty snow. No shortage of moisture around here–yet anyway. We’re still in the mud season.
