Except for a small number of cleanup chores left to do, we have completed vacating our mountain home of 43 years. Our pet graveyard near the house has been tended by this rabbit statue for several decades now. While we are leaving, the rabbit will will stay to keep the ghosts company.
I’m sad for you that you are leaving the mountain home, but I understand that changes in your health probably cemented that decision. I’m glad the bunny will remain. I left my own pet cemetery when I moved 3 years ago.
Thanks Kathy. We knew we wouldn’t be able to maintain the mountain house and property forever. We just didn’t think having to give it up would occur so soon and especially so suddenly. We took the headstones that I carved for our most recent two dogs with us and will place them in our yard somewhere in town. So I guess we’ll have a pet memorial rather than a pet cemetery now.
