Thanks Carol. This was actually our first year of attending the lantern parade as it started only a few years ago, and coincides with our spending January and February down in the southwest somewhere. So it was great to finally see it. If you’re serious about seeing it next year, you know you’re more than welcome to stay with us. (Of course we may well be down south again next year.)
It very much had a Chinese parade vibe to it, particularly because of the lantern aspect I suppose. We went to the Chinese New Year Parade in Butte some years back. It was well attended but seemed to mainly involve one large and impressive dragon “float”. It was during the daytime though, so no lantern aspect to it.
This is beautiful! The lines, the contrast of dark and light, the colors … I feel happy looking at it, and I want to be there for it next year!

Thanks for the offer! I am serious, but we’ll have to see what life brings us all next year. I’m noting it in my calendar so I won’t forget.
Sounds good!
Reminds me of the parades the Chinese do. Maybe it’s to mark their New Year which was just a few days ago. We are now in the Year of the Fire Horse.
