Parade Ready
Bozeman, Montana
2026
Spectators jockeying for position on a hill overlooking the starting point of the Menagerie of the Imaginary lantern parade organized by Bozeman’s Random Acts of Silliness group. Perhaps not surprisingly, the Fashion Queen and I are enthusiastic supporters of Random Acts of Silliness.
This photo is a new milestone of sorts for me. It’s the first photo I’ve taken in 2026, and the first since my heart transplant in June last year, that is worthy of a POTD post. In fact it’s the first photo at all since then that I’ve taken with any camera other than my cell phone. I’ve enjoyed going back to older photos, and will continue to do so, but it felt good to actually get out acquiring new photos again.
You’ve still got it!
Thanks Molly!
I love the photo, the idea of a Random Acts of Silliness group and their parade, and the fact that you are again taking photos with your camera.
Thanks Carol. Random Acts of Silliness was started back during the Covid crisis as a means of bringing some much needed fun into an otherwise dark time. Their activities were all planned for outdoors to keep folks as safe as possible. A different kind of dark times (for most of us anyway) abounds now, continuing the need for fun outlets.
Your new photo makes me very happy! It is so you, Welcome back to something you love and we love too.
Thanks Connie!
A great silhouette! And welcome back to the camera carrying crowd. Wishing you all the best…
Thanks Kathy!
Fantastic, Larry!
Were you able to take any nighttime photos?
Must have felt wonderful to be doing something you enjoy so much.
Where was the parade?
Thank you Carol! The night photos are coming. The parade was near your house at the Gallatin Regional Park.
What a great picture, such a fun group and so happy to hear you’re back doing what you love. I can feel the happiness in this image.
Thanks Judy. Happiness is the name of the game at Random Acts of Silliness.
I have been waiting for this post!!!! This photo brings me so much joy, as much as the body needs to heal so does the soul.
Thanks Jodi! You are so right about the soul needing healing as well. Now that my strength and energy is getting closer to normal, I hope to get out more and more.
