Sorry about the cognitive dissonance. As far as Cannery Row goes, that assessment is pretty right on in certain parts of Ajo. Forty plus years of the town trying to survive since the mine closed hasn’t been offset all that much (yet) by the influx of snowbirds every winter and a recent commitment to supporting artists.
