We went up to Freezeout Lake to see some of the snow geese fall migration. The surrounding country exuded loneliness, or at least aloneness. I’m quite fond of the latter concept, especially in comparison to the former. Something else one has to embrace to appreciate this country is minimalism, another concept I have an affinity for. A small bump in the ground, a shallow coulee, an old low farm building and a strong vanishing point perspective are enough to create an interesting composition in my book. (The clouds help too of course, especially in regard to establishing the vanishing point.)
