POTD: It’s Complicated

It’s Complicated
Hanksville, Utah
2024

Back in my early school days I played the trumpet (badly). Trumpets only have three valves to worry about fingering correctly when forming notes. So I was always amazed how saxophone, clarinet, and flute players could master all the buttons and levers of their instruments. In reality though, learning fingering configurations is the easy part of learning to play such an instrument well.

Any sign of Harold Hill (aka the Music Man) ? If you find musical instruments in abundance and can’t find any pool tables in Hanksville, he probably lead the 76 trombones down main street there…Or perhaps Brigham Young lead the big parade…

    1. It was a pretty slow day in Hanksville, the only instruments around were parts of the various oddball sculptures on the main drag.
