His hat says “U.S. Marine Corps Retired,” but in this instance he’s just plain retired. I’m impressed with his ability to nap sitting straight up–and without making a racket snoring. I’d have made a huge racket, at least until I simply fell over in my sleep.
He is a work of art, with the angles of his arms and his canes. Then you allowed the art in the angles of the environment to add to his art.
Thanks Carol. In the interest of full disclosure, that guy is a friend of ours, Colonel John Aldridge, USMC retired. He’s taking a well deserved rest I’d say.
When I’m asked about my work status I often reply “Tired and Retired”.
I always answer that I’m self-unemployed. Independently poor is a good answer too.
