Can specular highlights be a successful subject for a photo? I think so. This shot was across Jenny Lake as the sun was going down behind the Tetons, with the dark line being the edge of the shadow of the mountains.

I sat on the porch shooting the magpie images you’ve been seeing for so long that one of them flew up on the roof right above me to check me out more closely. I’m not sure what he was thinking as he stared down at my telephoto lens staring back at him.
