Rickshaw drivers in a Nanjing tourist area (frequented mostly by Chinese tourists from other parts of China). Even ignoring the cell phone there is not much traditional authenticity evident here, although the vehicles are recognizable as rickshaws. I would not be surprised if there were small electric motors hidden in them somewhere to help the drivers with their load running around–something I would not look down on them for at all.

I’m not homesick here in Nanjing (yet anyway) but it still seemed a good time to post another image of home, this time our home in the mountains outside of Bozeman. The Fashion Queen and I built the house ourselves. Notable in this shot is the wallpaper that Connie picked out and hung. I built the bookcase in the photo.

Vertigo #2

I created this image the other day from a photograph of some stairs at the Denver Art Museum, another of two young women at the Tucson Art Museum and a third of a guy doing acrobatics on a park bench on the levee in New Orleans.

I did not name the image Vertigo until after I had completed it. Just as I was about to post this I searched on the word vertigo on my blog and came up with this POTD from 2015 also titled vertigo. Surprisingly, but in a way that makes sense, it is another photograph of the same stairway in the Denver Art Museum.

I’m not experiencing vertigo right now, just jet lag after my long trip to Nanjing, China. As soon as I get out and about here, I should be posting POTDs featuring photos I’ve taken here.

I’m leaving this morning for Nanjing, China to stay with my Chinese artist friend, Kang Yimming (a.k.a. simply K to his American friends) and his family for a couple of weeks. I’m hoping that some of  K’s imagination and talent rubs off on me while I am there. Below are a few examples of his work.

This is a composite photograph of a number images of the same eagle who was circling for a while near the side of the road in Lamar Valley. You can acquire a lot of images in a hurry using continuous shooting mode (Set to three frames per second in this case).
