These staircases around the outside of storage tanks (in this case an oil tank) always attract my attention when driving by. This shot is somewhat interesting, but pales in comparison to the one below that I took nine years ago. With that as my benchmark, I rarely stop to photograph them as the results have always been underwhelming by comparison. But I occasionally give it a try because you never know!

Some Photoshop magic could make the new shot more dramatic. I like how the stairs seem to come and go to infinity, so a rest stop would be most welcome! 🙂
Actually there was a bit of Photoshop magic applied to this one, and quite a bit more to the older one. But I had more to work with in terms of lighting on the original image, due to the time of day and the angle of the sun on the tank.
