  1. Was wondering if you were ill with this late posting.. Neither rain, snow etc. seems to deter you from the daily blog. Was this LP #22 taken last fall? Do you have an “ethic” that would allow you to put a piece of black cardboard behind the fore ground subject to sharpen the white crystal effect?

    1. Steve, the blog post was actually out there early this a.m. A glitch (of the mental kind) prevented the email notification from going out until just a while ago. Yes, that photo was taken last fall and I have no ethics when it comes to creative effects in photos. If I don’t do something like what you suggest in a particular photo it’s because a) I didn’t think of it or b) I didn’t have the right equipment with me and/or c) I was just too lazy to do it! In this case though, there might a little bit of planned method to my madness. The latent potential series is divided into two main types of images, those that are shot in the studio and those I shoot “en plein air.” So I guess if I wanted a plain background for that plant, I should have just picked it to take back an photograph in my studio.
