DRIFTING

Cast adrift, cast ashore, cast adrift, cast ashore.
Smoothed and shaped by water, rock, and sand.
Then placed high on a rocky pedestal by a storm.
Resting there, a monument to the sea’s power.
Until the next big storm.
Cast adrift, cast ashore, cast adrift, cast ashore.
